The violence of southern part of Somalia is spreading to neighbouring parts. This will increase the isolation and suffering of Somali people.
Mogadishu, (insidesomalia.org)- Eight people were wounded after a bomb exploded overnight in Boosaaso, the capital of the semi-autonomous regional state of Puntland.
The explosion occurred at a house where a group of elders and intellectuals were meeting behind closed doors, sources said.
The motive of the attack is not clear and there are no groups claiming to be responsibility.
Puntland Security forces came into the scene sealing off the roads in and out of the attack site but no suspects were arrested, said Abdifitah Jeyte, a local reporter in Boosaaso.
This comes after on Wednesday two MSF aid workers were kidnapped by freelance militias in Boosaaso.
Puntland police have captured two of kidnappers while the other four who held the two aid workers still are at large, Puntland Commerce Minister Abdisamad Yusuf Abwan said.
Spanish and Argentinean ambassadors to Kenya had discussions in Boosaaso on Friday with Puntland authorities for the release of two female aid workers from Spain and Argentine but both sides did not give comments about the out come.
Argentina's government expressed hope Thursday that an Argentine nurse who was kidnapped in Somalia this week will be released as early as Friday.
"There is an atmosphere of positive hope," Foreign Minister Jorge Taiana told reporters. "We think that tomorrow (Friday) morning there could be a positive solution for this matter, which worries us and which we are following very closely."
"There is information that Pilar Bauza is alive and well. We hope for a positive solution tomorrow morning, but we must be cautious."
Bauza, 25, and a fellow member of the medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders), Spanish doctor Mercedes Garcia, were kidnapped on Wednesday in Somalia's northern breakaway region of Puntland.
Two days before the two MSF Spain aid workers were kidnapped, a French Journalist Gwan Li Giuon , were released by his captors after he was in captivity for more than eight days.
The French journalist who was planning to shoot a documentary about the deadly perilous journey to Yemen undertaken by thousands of people from Somalia and other war-torn Horn of African countries was kidnapped at Marero, 34km away from Boosaaso.
The militias apparently demanded 80,000 US Dollars as ransom but later reports said that no ransom was paid for the release of the French journalist.
Puntland known to be relatively calm and more peaceful than the southern Somalia was recently hit hard by a crime wave including piracy, kidnapping and violence, according to Puntland official speaking in anonymity.
